How we check our information
Travel information is only useful if it is correct. This page explains where our information comes from, how we keep it current and what to do if you find an error.
Where our information comes from
We use the source that is closest to the fact. For each topic, these are:
- Routes, timetables and prices
- Operators of trains, buses, ferries and airlines, station and port authorities, and the live offers of our booking partner. Prices and times change, so we show them as a guide and link to the current offer.
- Borders and entry rules
- Immigration authorities, foreign ministries, embassies and official e-visa portals. Each border crossing shows its sources and the date it was last checked.
- Stations, piers and sights
- Official websites of operators, cities and tourism authorities, plus open map data for locations.
- Figures and statistics
- Official statistics offices and public authorities. Where a page relies on specific documents, we list them as sources.
What we leave out
We do not publish rumours, unconfirmed timetables or rules we cannot trace to a source. If sources contradict each other, we say so or leave the detail out. We do not write paid content, and partners do not review our pages.
Regular reviews
Pages are reviewed in a fixed rotation, starting with the most visited ones and those not checked for the longest time. In a review, we compare the page with its sources and correct outdated details. Pages show when they were last updated.
Research tools and AI
We use modern search and research tools to find and read official sources in many languages across the region. AI helps us with research, drafting, translation and checking for outdated details. It works within editorial rules we set: facts must be backed by a source, and anything that cannot be verified is not published. Our team defines these rules, reviews samples and handles every report from readers.
Partners and independence
Bookings through 12Go and GetYourGuide earn us a commission without changing your price. That is how GoAsia is funded. It does not decide which routes, options or sights we describe.
