IndiGo plans to start nonstop flights between Guwahati and Bangkok on 27 October 2026, opening a direct air link between Assam and Thailand. The airline says the route will be its first international operation from Guwahati.
A special inaugural service is scheduled for Tuesday, 27 October. From 31 October, the route is planned to operate twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, subject to regulatory approvals.
Planned flight schedule
- Bangkok to Guwahati: IndiGo 6E 1086, departing Bangkok at 08:50 and arriving in Guwahati at 10:25.
- Guwahati to Bangkok: IndiGo 6E 1085, departing Guwahati at 18:15 and arriving in Bangkok at 22:45.
All times published by IndiGo are local. The schedule gives travellers from Assam and the wider Northeast a nonstop option to Bangkok rather than routing through another Indian city. In the other direction, it creates a more straightforward arrival point for visitors planning time in Guwahati or onward travel in Assam and Northeast India.
Guwahati’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport uses the code GAU; Bangkok service is scheduled to use Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK). Travellers should confirm the operating days, terminal information, baggage rules and entry requirements in their booking before travel, as the new service remains subject to regulatory approval and airline schedules can change.
The launch is separate from IndiGo’s previously announced Gaya–Bangkok service, which is due to begin on 26 October. That route serves Bihar and Buddhist pilgrimage travel, while the Guwahati service adds a distinct gateway for Northeast India.
