Cambodia Adds Domestic Flights Linking Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and the Coast
Cambodia’s domestic flight network is expanding again, giving travelers more options for linking the country’s main visitor stops by air instead of long road transfers.
Cambodia Airways has launched new domestic services on the Phnom Penh–Siem Reap and Siem Reap–Sihanoukville routes, according to a July 2 report by Khmer Times citing the airline. The routes are operated with ATR 72-600 aircraft and connect Techo International Airport near Phnom Penh, Siem Reap–Angkor International Airport and Sihanouk International Airport.
Route-tracking publication AeroRoutes lists the Cambodia Airways services as starting from June 26, 2026, with two daily rotations between Phnom Penh’s Techo International Airport (KTI) and Siem Reap (SAI), plus one daily rotation between Siem Reap and Sihanoukville (KOS). As with any new airline schedule, travelers should verify current flight times and operating days directly with the airline or airport before booking onward hotels, ferries or tours.
More practical routing inside Cambodia
The added links make it easier to build a Cambodia itinerary that combines Angkor temples, Phnom Penh and the southern coast without backtracking through the capital by road. Siem Reap to Sihanoukville is especially useful for travelers moving from Angkor to the coast and islands, where land travel can take much of a day depending on road conditions, traffic and connections.
The route expansion is part of a broader push by local carriers to rebuild domestic connectivity. Air Cambodia, the national carrier, already promotes daily Phnom Penh–Siem Reap flights on its official website and has also announced a Phnom Penh–Dara Sakor service to Koh Kong Province, adding another air option toward Cambodia’s southwest. Khmer Times also reported that AirAsia Cambodia has been operating daily domestic services, increasing competition and schedule choice on key domestic corridors.
Airports and booking checks
Travelers flying from Phnom Penh should note the use of Techo International Airport, identified by Cambodia Airports as KTI. The airport’s official flight information page lists Siem Reap among its destinations and shows Cambodia Airways among operating airlines. Sihanouk International Airport markets itself as Cambodia’s seaside and islands airport, making it the closest air gateway for many trips to Sihanoukville and onward island connections.
Before relying on the new services, check three details: the airport code used by your booking platform, baggage rules for ATR aircraft, and whether your coastal itinerary needs an overnight buffer before ferries or international flights. New domestic routes can be adjusted after launch, so same-day tight connections remain a risk until schedules settle.
The latest Cambodia articles already covered visa-free entry for Chinese citizens, Angkor ticket ID requirements, New Delhi flights and Siem Reap inter-provincial tourism routes. This update is a separate domestic-connectivity story focused on practical routing inside Cambodia.
