SAS Launches Nonstop Copenhagen–Mumbai Flights From October 2026

August 19, 2026

SAS will launch a year-round nonstop route between Copenhagen and Mumbai in October, restoring the airline’s own scheduled service to India after 17 years.

The first flight from Copenhagen Airport is scheduled for 1 October 2026. The first departure from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport is planned for 3 October. SAS says the route will operate five times a week with an Airbus A330 under flight numbers SK969 and SK970.

Flight schedule between Copenhagen and Mumbai

According to SAS’s published timetable, SK969 will leave Copenhagen at 16:10 and arrive in Mumbai at 04:30 the following day. It is scheduled to operate on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The return flight, SK970, is scheduled to leave Mumbai at 06:30 and arrive in Copenhagen at 12:15. It will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The early-morning Mumbai departure may suit travellers continuing their journey after an overnight stay near the airport, while Copenhagen arrivals are timed for daytime onward travel. SAS describes Copenhagen as a hub for connections across Scandinavia, Europe and selected long-haul destinations, including New York, Boston and Toronto.

A new option for Mumbai-bound and India-based travellers

For visitors travelling to Mumbai from Denmark, Sweden, Norway and other parts of SAS’s network, the service adds a direct Copenhagen gateway rather than requiring a change at another European or Gulf hub. It also gives travellers departing Mumbai another one-stop option for Scandinavian cities and itineraries booked through Copenhagen.

Passengers planning an onward connection should check the itinerary carefully before booking. Connection availability, minimum transfer times, baggage arrangements and immigration requirements depend on the ticket and destination. A through-ticket is generally simpler than combining separate reservations.

SAS says flights are on sale. Airline schedules, aircraft and operating days can change, so travellers should confirm the latest departure time, terminal information, baggage allowance and entry requirements directly with SAS before travel.
