Phnom Penh and Bangkok are two of Southeast Asia's busiest capitals, and the journey between them takes you from the riverside of Cambodia to the skyscrapers of Thailand. At the moment the practical way to make it is by air.

Phnom Penh to Bangkok by Flight
All Phnom Penh airport operations moved to Techo International Airport (KTI) on 9 September 2025.[4] Its departures board lists flights to Bangkok,[5] and Bangkok Airways operates direct flights between Techo International Airport and Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK). It gives the flight time as about 1 hour 20 to 25 minutes.[6]
Techo International Airport is about 20 kilometres from the city centre, and Bangkok Airways estimates the transfer at 40 to 60 minutes depending on traffic, so leave the city early.[6] Fares change by airline, date and how early you book, so compare current prices on the airlines' own sites.
Phnom Penh to Bangkok by Land
Buses, vans and private transfers across the Poipet crossing are not an option while the border is suspended.[1] If the crossing reopens, check the current opening rules and your visa requirements before you book a ticket.
