Tokyo to Karuizawa by Train
Karuizawa is a straight shot from Tokyo Station on the JR Hokuriku Shinkansen. The trip takes less than one and a half hours and is covered by the Japan Rail Pass.[1] The E7 series trains run from Tokyo to Tsuruga and have a power outlet at every seat.[2]
Standard Class Shinkansen

- Book Shinkansen in Advance: In July and August and during the autumn foliage season, trains can sell out. Reserve your seat early.
