British Airways Adds Third Daily Delhi–London Heathrow Flight

British Airways has added a third daily direct flight between Delhi and London Heathrow, increasing the airline's schedule between India and Heathrow to up to 70 weekly services for the winter 2026 season.

The additional Delhi service began on 19 September 2026, according to IAG Cargo, the International Airlines Group division that confirmed the flight will be operated by British Airways with a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. British Airways had previously announced plans to raise the Delhi route from two daily flights to three, subject to regulatory and capacity approval.

More choice on the Delhi–London route

For travellers flying between India and the United Kingdom, a third daily departure creates more options around hotel check-outs, airport transfers and arrivals in London. It can also make it easier to build an itinerary through Heathrow when travelling onward to other destinations served by British Airways and its partners.

The increase is part of a wider India schedule. British Airways says it serves Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad from London, and its India page lists up to 70 flights from the UK each week. The airline's winter 2026 network announcement also confirms that Delhi will continue to be served three times daily.

Check the flight, not just the route frequency

Three daily flights do not mean that every departure has the same fare, baggage rules, aircraft or connection time. Travellers should compare the individual flights offered for their travel date, particularly if a Heathrow connection is involved. Allow enough time for any terminal transfer, security screening and possible immigration formalities in the UK.

Schedules can change for operational reasons, and published flight times may vary across the winter timetable. Passengers should confirm the flight number, departure terminal and connection details directly with British Airways before booking and again shortly before travel.

Delhi remains a key British Airways gateway

The Delhi expansion follows British Airways' stated plan to grow its India network. In an October 2025 announcement, the airline described India as its largest market outside the United States and said the added Delhi frequency would give passengers more flexibility when visiting family, travelling for work or planning a trip.

For visitors arriving in India, the additional service provides another direct option into Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. It does not change India's visa or entry requirements; travellers still need to hold the appropriate visa or other travel authorisation for their nationality and trip purpose.
