IndiGo Plans October Return of Kolkata–Siem Reap Flights

IndiGo is expected to restore its nonstop service between Kolkata and Siem Reap in October, reopening a direct route to Cambodia’s main gateway for Angkor visitors after a three-month suspension.

The airline suspended its Siem Reap operations from 3 July through 30 September 2026 as part of a wider international network adjustment. In its June notice, IndiGo said bookings for the affected services would resume from 1 October, while advising passengers to check the latest flight information before travelling.

Cambodia’s State Secretariat of Civil Aviation told Khmer Times that the Kolkata–Siem Reap service is due to operate three times a week, on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, using an Airbus A320neo. That matches the route’s previous published IndiGo pattern, although travellers should treat exact departure times, operating days and the first post-suspension flight as subject to confirmation in IndiGo’s live booking system.

A direct option for Siem Reap and Angkor

The route links Kolkata (CCU) with Siem Reap–Angkor International Airport (SAI), avoiding a connection through another regional hub. It is particularly useful for travellers beginning a Cambodia trip in Siem Reap, rather than arriving in Phnom Penh and continuing overland or on a separate domestic flight.

IndiGo originally launched the service in November 2025 as a three-times-weekly connection. Its published timetable at launch listed flight 6E 1655 from Kolkata to Siem Reap and 6E 1656 in the return direction. The airline has not yet published a new detailed timetable in a post-suspension press release, so the former flight numbers and timings should not be relied on until they appear in a current booking or itinerary confirmation.

Check before making onward plans

Passengers travelling in early October should confirm that their selected date is operating before arranging non-refundable accommodation, temple tours or airport transfers. Siem Reap–Angkor International Airport is the current airport for Siem Reap; the former REP airport was replaced when SAI opened in 2023. Allow time for the road transfer between SAI and central Siem Reap, especially for early departures.

The return of the route is a meaningful update to IndiGo’s July suspension, rather than a new Cambodia connection. It restores a direct arrival option from eastern India during the period when Cambodia’s wet season gives way to the busier November-to-April dry season.
