Lufthansa Returns to Kuala Lumpur With Five Weekly Nonstop Flights From Frankfurt
Lufthansa began nonstop flights between Frankfurt and Kuala Lumpur on 26 October 2026, operating five times a week with a Boeing 787-9.[1] It is the first time in nearly a decade that Lufthansa has flown the route, and Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) now has direct flights to Europe with five airlines.[2]
Schedule
Flight LH 705 leaves Kuala Lumpur at 23:55 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday and arrives in Frankfurt at 06:00 the next morning.[1] Flight LH 704 leaves Frankfurt at 21:30 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and lands in Kuala Lumpur at 16:40 the next day.[1] Times are as published by Lufthansa and can change, so check your booking before you travel.
Aircraft and cabins
The 787-9 has 287 seats in Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class, and uses Lufthansa's Allegris cabin.[1] The service adds about 75,000 one-way seats a year between the two cities.[2]
Connections
Lufthansa offers onward connections across Europe through Frankfurt.[1] Malaysia Airports says KLIA handled 1.1 million passengers on European routes from January to September 2026, 29.7 percent more than a year earlier.[2] If you plan a longer Asia trip, see our Malaysia guide for getting around once you land.
