Batik Air to Launch Subang–Bali and Penang–Batam Flights in October

Batik Air plans to add two direct Indonesia services from Malaysia in October 2026, offering new options for travellers departing from the Klang Valley and northern Malaysia.

The Penang–Batam route is scheduled to begin on 18 October, operating three times a week. Two days later, on 20 October, Batik Air plans to start four weekly flights between Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang (SZB) and Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS).

New options from Subang and Penang

The Subang–Bali service gives travellers based in and around the Klang Valley an alternative to travelling to Kuala Lumpur International Airport for a Bali flight. Batik Air already operates services between KLIA and Bali, so the new route adds another departure point rather than replacing the existing Kuala Lumpur connection.

For Penang, the Batam service creates a direct air link to Indonesia’s Riau Islands. Batik Air says the route will run three times weekly and will complement its existing KLIA–Batam flights.

Check the operating days before booking

Neither route is daily, so travellers should check the specific operating dates when building an itinerary or connecting with onward flights. Flight schedules, fares, baggage allowances and aircraft assignments can change before or after a new route launches; the airline’s booking channel should be treated as the final confirmation.

Passengers flying internationally should also allow time for immigration procedures and check the entry requirements that apply to their passport for Indonesia. The new flights do not change visa or arrival rules.

Batik Air’s official route-search page lists Subang (SZB) to Bali (DPS) and Penang (PEN) to Batam (BTH) among its new-route options. The airline-announced launch dates and frequencies were also reported consistently by Malaysian news outlets. As the services have not yet started, travellers should confirm availability directly with Batik Air before making non-refundable accommodation or onward-travel bookings.
