Thai AirAsia Adds Free Silver Care Perks on Domestic Flights

September 4, 2026

Thai AirAsia has introduced Silver Care, a free airport-service package for passengers aged 60 and over travelling on its domestic flights in Thailand.

Announced by the airline on 2 September 2026, the programme includes priority check-in, priority baggage handling and a Seat Together service for an eligible passenger and one travel companion. The seating benefit is subject to standard-seat availability, so it should not be treated as a guaranteed seat assignment.

Passengers need to show valid identification at the check-in counter to access the service. Thai AirAsia says the benefits carry no additional charge and apply across its domestic network.

How Silver Care works at the airport

At Bangkok's Don Mueang International Airport (DMK), Thai AirAsia directs eligible passengers to Counter 10J in Domestic Terminal 2. At other domestic airports, the airline advises passengers to look for Silver Care signs at the counter or ask ground staff for help.

Checked bags are marked with a priority label at check-in, which Thai AirAsia says is intended to speed up collection at the destination. The airline says it has trained ground and cabin crews to support the new service.

Useful detail for travellers flying within Thailand

The programme is limited to Thai AirAsia domestic services. It is not described as a fare discount, airport lounge benefit or fast-track immigration service, and it does not apply automatically to international flights simply because a traveller connects within Thailand.

Senior visitors using Thai AirAsia for domestic trips should carry a government-issued photo ID that clearly shows their date of birth and request Silver Care at the airport rather than assuming the benefit is added during online booking. Those travelling with a family member or friend should also note that the companion arrangement is limited to one person and that adjacent standard seats remain dependent on availability.

Thai AirAsia did not set out a separate end date for Silver Care in its announcement. Travellers with flights later in the season should confirm the current procedure with the airline before departure, particularly when flying from an airport other than Don Mueang.
