Jakarta to Bali by Flight
Flights leave Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) in Tangerang and land at Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS), close to Bali's southern beaches. Lion Air, Indonesia AirAsia, Sriwijaya Air, Nam Air, TransNusa, Pelita Air, Super Air Jet, Citilink, Batik Air, Bangkok Airways and Korean Air all fly the route non-stop.[1] Some direct flights take 1 hour 55 minutes or 2 hours.[1]
Fares and Departures
Fares start at about IDR 1.15 million one way.[1] For 22 November 2026, Lion Air flights at 04:30, 08:35 and 17:40 cost IDR 1.2 to 1.3 million, and the Indonesia AirAsia flight at 15:30 costs IDR 1.3 million.[1] Low-cost carriers sell the seat and a small carry-on; full-service airlines add more.
Baggage
On AirAsia, hand luggage must not exceed 7 kg; otherwise you pay for checked baggage.[1] Lion Air includes 10 kg of checked baggage, and you can buy more online before departure at lower rates than at the airport.[2] On Citilink's domestic Airbus A320 flights, tickets issued since 5 March 2026 include 15 kg of checked baggage, or 20 kg if you book through the website or app as a member.[3] Garuda Indonesia counts free baggage by pieces on tickets issued from 1 September 2026.[4]

Tips for Traveling from Jakarta to Bali
- Airport Timing: Allow 2 to 3 hours before departure.[5] Jakarta's traffic is legendary, so leave for Soekarno-Hatta earlier than you think necessary. The Basoeta commuter line runs between the airport and Duri and Manggarai from about 05:00 to 23:37 and avoids the toll-road gridlock.[6]
- Terminal Check: Citilink's domestic flights use Terminal 1B at Soekarno-Hatta.[7] Check your ticket for your airline's terminal before you set off.
- Time Zone Shift: Bali (UTC+8) is one hour ahead of Jakarta (UTC+7), so set your watch when you land.[8]
- Bali Tourist Levy: Foreign visitors pay a one-time levy of IDR 150,000 while travelling in Bali. You can pay online before you arrive or at the counters at the airport.[9]
