Bali to Jakarta by Flight
Flights leave Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS), south of Kuta, and land at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) in Tangerang, which serves the Jakarta area. Lion Air, Indonesia AirAsia, Sriwijaya Air, Citilink, Nam Air, Batik Air, Super Air Jet, Pelita Air, TransNusa and Bangkok Airways fly the route non-stop.[1] A non-stop flight takes about 1 hour 50 minutes.[1]
Fares and Departures
Fares start at about IDR 1.23 million one way.[1] On 28 October 2026, Lion Air flights at 08:05, 12:05, 13:15 and 21:15 cost IDR 1.2 million, and Indonesia AirAsia flights at 07:00 and 19:35 cost IDR 1.3 million.[1] Low-cost carriers sell the seat and a small carry-on, and you pay extra for checked baggage, meals and seat selection. Full-service airlines add more comfort.
Baggage
On AirAsia, hand luggage must not exceed 7 kg.[1] Lion Air includes 10 kg of checked baggage, and you can buy more online before departure at lower rates than at the airport.[2] Citilink's domestic Airbus A320 tickets issued since 5 March 2026 include 15 kg of checked baggage, or 20 kg if you book through the website or app as a member.[3]
Arriving in Jakarta
From Soekarno-Hatta you can reach central Jakarta on the Basoeta commuter line, which runs to Duri and Manggarai. The first morning train leaves the airport at 06:15 and reaches Manggarai at 07:07; trains run from about 05:00 until 23:37.[4] A single ticket from the airport to Duri, BNI City or Manggarai costs Rp70,000 (fare published in November 2024).[5] Citilink's domestic flights land at Terminal 1B.[6]

Tips for Traveling from Bali to Jakarta
- Book in Advance: There are flights all day, but the cheapest seats sell out quickly around public holidays and long weekends.
- Arrive Early: Allow 2 to 3 hours before departure at Ngurah Rai.[1] Bali's airport gets crowded in peak holiday periods.
- Check Your Terminal: Soekarno-Hatta is large, so check which terminal your airline uses on arrival and departure.
- Time Zone Shift: Jakarta (UTC+7) is one hour behind Bali (UTC+8), so you gain an hour on the clock when you land.[7]
- Cabin Bag Weight: Weigh your bags beforehand if you fly with a budget carrier. Excess baggage fees at the counter are higher than prepaid rates.[2]
- Bring a Layer: Airports and planes are often cold, so keep a light sweater or sarong in your carry-on.
