Malaysia Airlines Family Packages Add Savings for Domestic Trips Through June 2027

Malaysia Airlines has brought back a family-focused MHholidays offer for domestic trips in Malaysia, giving families a longer booking window for flight-and-hotel packages through the school-holiday and Visit Malaysia 2026 travel period.

The “Kids Fly Stay Free” campaign is open for bookings from 22 June to 31 December 2026, with travel dates running from 23 June 2026 to 22 June 2027, according to Malaysia Aviation Group. It applies to selected MHholidays domestic packages booked for two adults and one child.

The offer covers children aged two to 11 on eligible packages. Malaysia Airlines says families can save up to 45% on selected domestic packages, while the dedicated MHholidays campaign page lists package benefits such as up to 40kg baggage allowance per traveller, complimentary onboard meals where available, free seat selection and a one-time free date change on selected refundable packages.

Where the offer applies

The official campaign page highlights family getaways in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi and Johor Bahru, with examples tied to resorts and family attractions. Travellers should treat these as campaign examples rather than a guarantee that every hotel, date or route is included.

• The package must be booked as a Flight + Hotel product through MHholidays.
• The qualifying booking structure is two adults and one child.
• Only one child flies and stays free per qualifying package.
• The complimentary child flight applies to the base fare; taxes, fees and surcharges remain payable.
• Hotel breakfast, extra beds, cots and child meal inclusions depend on the individual hotel policy and room plan.

For international visitors, the offer is most relevant when Malaysia is part of a longer regional trip and a domestic side trip is being planned from Kuala Lumpur. It may be useful for beach stays in Langkawi, a food-and-heritage break in Penang, theme-park or city stays around Kuala Lumpur, or short Johor Bahru trips, provided the selected package dates and hotels fit the itinerary.

Check the package terms before booking

The campaign is not a general free-child airfare across all Malaysia Airlines domestic flights. Availability is limited to selected MHholidays packages, and the final price can still include taxes, fees, surcharges and hotel-specific extras. Families comparing options should price the package against separate flight and hotel bookings, especially during peak school-holiday periods when room availability and child policies can vary.

Malaysia Airlines has also been adjusting parts of its network in 2026. A Malaysia Aviation Group release says the airline is adding or restoring East Asia routes, including direct services linked to Shenzhen, Changsha and Fukuoka, while increasing frequencies on some routes such as Brisbane, Manila and Colombo. Those route changes are separate from the domestic MHholidays family campaign but may affect how travellers connect through Kuala Lumpur.

Separately, The Star reported that AirAsia MOVE added Oman Air, Uzbekistan Airways, FitsAir and Hainan Airlines as direct airline partners in the second quarter of 2026. That expands search and booking options on the AirAsia MOVE platform, but travellers should still confirm baggage, schedule-change, refund and connection terms with the operating airline before relying on an app itinerary.
